Sensory impairments

For individuals with hearing, visual or dual sensory impairments, clear communication and environmental awareness are essential. Our staff are trained to use appropriate communication methods – such as clear speech, visual cues, written information or tactile approaches – and to adapt the environment to be as safe and accessible as possible.

We support people with everyday tasks, orientation, mobility and accessing information, services and social opportunities. By working with specialist teams and using assistive technology where appropriate, we aim to reduce barriers and increase independence. Our focus is on ensuring that people with sensory impairments are heard, understood and fully included in decisions about their lives.
